Red aura 

for passion.

She turned 

from the balcony

and moved 

aimlessly

through

the crowded party,

Champagne flute

in hand.

Blue aura for

constancy.

He stepped

out from

the other alcove

in the velvet

curtained

window to 

gaze over 

the city lights.

A faint perfume

of jasmine lingered.

He smiled 

a slight smile.

Refusing her

hostess's offer

to call a cab,

Red slipped 

out the back

door into

the night.

With a sigh, Blue

made his way 

to the front door.

He leaned into

the evening chill

and turned his

collar against 

the wind.

Indigo aura for

truth (denied).

Just another 

dull and pointless

party in the grey

and lonely city.
