Apart
Two lonely souls
across the hall
from one another.
He silently sipped
his coffee isolated
while she went out
and sat solitary
with her cup of tea.
He went to the movies
she slipped out an hour later
they sat apart
never to meet
She went to the beach
mused isolated on the sands
yearning for soul mate.
He walked by the waves
oblivious to her.
He saw her once
at a distance
felt interest kindle
but no matter how fast
he walked
couldn’t catch her shadow.
She felt estranged
from her possibilities.
He felt disconsolate.
Two bodies
passing in the night
never to entwine.
A P A R T
Asynchronous indigo
Red aura
for passion.
She turned
from the balcony
and moved
aimlessly
through
the crowded party,
Champagne flute
in hand.
Blue aura for
constancy.
He stepped
out from
the other alcove
in the velvet
curtained
window to
gaze over
the city lights.
A faint perfume
of jasmine lingered.
He smiled
a slight smile.
Refusing her
hostess's offer
to call a cab,
Red slipped
out the back
door into
the night.
With a sigh, Blue
made his way
to the front door.
He leaned into
the evening chill
and turned his
collar against
the wind.
Indigo aura for
truth (denied).
Just another
dull and pointless
party in the grey
and lonely city.
Asynchronous love
"Why do you keep on reading the same chapter?"
This question always surrounded me,
Engulfing me like an old dear friend.
A small smile tugged at my lips,
And I replied to the cold wintery wind,
"Because I'm hoping and praying that maybe,
Just maybe this time the ending would be a bit different."
Sync
I choose not to go with the crowd
Because they all dance the same
In a rather boring fashion
That I find very lame
All they do is twirl and hop
Their way across the stage
I choose to flip and leap
To escape from their dreadful cage
For we all want to act the same
It's evolution, as you know
But I march to the beat of a different drum
And, steadily on, I go
Asynchronous.
A hundred billion stars and
Seven billion people,
Hurtling through space
Futile and everything to lose -
Running - errands and to work
And away from the unimaginable -
And when we cease
with nothing left and thoughts all shadow -
the world still turns,
but we are ice and
leaking sand and how and why?
are we to know -
what time it is
at the center of the earth -
And for the man
On the other side -
So far and spinning -
A thousand miles an hour -
Falling through space
And if
we
let
go -
chronology of love enumerated
starlight's asynchronicity affects my vision's awe
pinpricks of brilliance, romantic bursts,
"i love you, let me recite the asynchronous ways,"
in which you stir my emotions to passions' oblivion
you've gone on above, stardust you
once asynchronous, earthly lovedust transformed
once grasped by physical reach,
now particles divine, spirit's asynchronistic essence
i yearn innumeratively those asynchronous nuances
of our former human state,
ecstasy borne of will,
mere lust acquiesced to highest plane
let these stars attest asynchronistic ordeals
such worth of price be paid,
woe to mortal me, your eternal state
impatiently awaits reunion,
what remains of me,
your asynchronous half, yet physical
to be as you,
rejoined as asynchronistic spiritdust
