To Be One
Tell her i’m afraid
sure as hell I won’t; better
loneliness for months
Sickness cooped up. pray
young miscreant, wallow for
I am tired again.
Callous tongue tapping
concrete gums; syllables weights.
blame them or yourself.
Don’t drop anchors on
helping hands- damn these chains choke!
love thy neighbor
So I hope, cope at
midnight as you venture glass
bound landscapes. her smile
Escapes in pappus
wisps, off they venture in wind
bound vistas, silk sun
Weaving lion tooth
dandelion bloom, golden
webs devouring,
Crawling hay-like goose-
bump risen hairs tarsal claws
impale with vampiric grace.
I both despise and
am enamored by your ways
yet you climb Himalayan
Peaks, never tired nor
passionless, breaching arctic
blight meteoric.
Miles below I stare
frightened of silver frostbite
blades, bruised mountain sides
Exhaling torrent
gales from hell and reserved fears.
something surprised me
Within my bouts
of focused self loathing and
reductive daylight
I could redeem my-
self if I took a step to
you, not because of,
But due to a new
will to climb unknowable
heights. I could not love you
