Dialogue with the Sun
I stepped into the shade
To speak to the sun
He asked, where is my shadow
I said I had none
Reaching forward behind myself
There was a pile of sleeves
Draped over my shoulders
Were buttons sprouting leaves
Things had become not what they seem
Realizations that it’s all
incongruous
This all proved one thing
The fabric of reality was
diaphanous
Stepping back into the sun
I laughed with my shadow
We climbed back inside
And closed my mind’s window
