Reflection on Love
I sit in silence, so somber,
Reflection at hand.
Yearning for the yester years,
Lifes lessons to understand.
Uneasy and unsure,
On which direction my gaze.
Longines for tomorrow's sun,
Or reliving yesterday's.
In all my contemplation,
I embrace my aching heart.
As it suffers through the mourning,
At loves bitter part.
Although my heart needs mending,
My spirit starts to soar.
Beholden to the dreams a new,
And a love of ever more.
In these moments of happiness,
My soul begins to dance.
I forgo the chains of doubt and fear,
And offer love another chance.
In the end we're always given,
The simplest of choice.
Risk living in what could have been,
Or, dare to rejoice!
