Untouched by the chains and limits of society,

Living purely by the most basic rules of nature,

Fierce,

Untamed,

Wild.

I look up into the deep black ink of the night sky.

The endless expanse of black is a canvas onto which

stars are carefully pressed on,

one by one.

The night sky, in all its majesty, envelops me.

I have heard others talking about how they feel so

insignificant,

when compared to the vast elsewhere.

However, I am honored,

To have held witness,

to the incomparable glory of the universe

Shadows slumber as the sun goes down, but are revived by the moons pale presence. They creep among the trees, giving a ghostly pallor to all that they touch. They watch as Death strides along the forest floor, enveloped in his pitch black cloak. Evidently, he must visit many tonight. A bright flash of silver light above the treetops signifies that Life is also making an appearance in the woods. Foxes, owls, and all animals of the night hurry through the shadows, careful to not step in the moonlight, for the moon is not forgiving to those who cross her path. Nighttime is a place without mercy.

I fell in love with safety. Her sweet temptations promised security and sameness, while danger's beckoning did little to call me away from safety's warm embrace. Would I dare to rip myself away from this haven to pursue more than what safety guaranteed me? Or would I risk it all, and chase after adventure?
