Spring is such a tease
I am driving down the road when I finally trust the weather enough to roll down the windows
The wind plays with my hair and the sun soaks into me forcing me to close my eyes and smile
The flowers blossoming make my brother sneeze a million times but that just makes us laugh hysterically
Ice cream is being eaten again and I can feel some sweat dripping down my neck but it's okay because I've been cold for too long
The thick blanket is finally being taken off my bed and I'm starting to walk barefoot on the tile again
But not once did spring let me know that it was not yet time for a vacation
Summer is so close but for now I just have spring, teasing me with its beauty
The Taste in My Mouth
I cannot shake this familiar taste of you out of my mouth. No matter the poisons I use to try to get you out of my mouth, you never leave me. Instead, you linger around for eternity, and although I forget about the taste of you sometimes, I am always reminded of the impression you've left.
Your soul, your smile
I lost count of the days. Her smile remained engraved to my memory. There were no words to describe such beauty. Yet, pages and paged filled my notebooks. The ink in my pens disappeared word after word. Time was unknown to me. The way her lips curled, and when her face lit up... it was as if the whole world stopped.
She smiled so brightly at me, it was as of everything made sense. How planes flew, time ticked, and why we cannot laugh when me tickle ourselves. Everything made sense.
Completely.
Slowly, I made my way across the room. Her soul shined brightly through her heart. The ideas of beauty changed. S
She stood behind me, the smile remained.
“Your soul, your smile...” Unable to finish my sentence, you placed your finger to my lips. Telling me to hush.
It was as if you knew, you always knew.
