Traces of Songs that stayed
The song that evokes you to go through your memory lane over and over again. A deep memory that was engraved somewhere you couldn't ignore. Either a positive or a negative one. Write about how that song became something so deep to you years later.

your dad must have been so sick of that song. of every time we got in the car and made him play it. peach juice dripping from our chins and arms waving around in the back seat.

we knew every word and every movement. we sang it when we couldn't hear it and it made us so happy.

i hope your dad's resting well. i hope one day you can eat another peach. i wonder if i'll always have to ward off tears when i hear our song.

Odds and Challenges

One step at a time

Learning

One thing at a time

Practicing

One move at a time

Calculating

One moment at a time

Exploring prior experience

Discovering prior memories

Time flies

Over a period of time everything seems to be a thing of past

Nothing lasts forever

Neither success

Nor failure

Neither happiness

Nor sorrow

It 's the courage to start again in life when everything seems to be over

The same courage defines life in the best possible way while in present.

Swirls

My love for you was the settlement of dark tea leaves

Swirling around slowly at the bottom of a glazed pocelain cup

Slowly like the breath that deflates my chest, the chest that flutters like the wings of a summer bug

My love for you is the tea you gave me to drink

On days it rained

On days your car wouldn't work

You were at my window when I was burdend by my own distress

You were there to put my nerves at ease-to put warmth in my chest

So then in the afternoon sun, could I rest

My love for you was the settlement of dark tea leaves

Swirling around slowly, as slowly as a jewlery box ballerina

Slowly like the breath that left our beating chests

that flutters like the wings of a summer bug.

Me | Me

I’m staring at myself in the mirror. I do everything I do. Even when I don’t want to. I reach into the mirror, but i’m blocking my own path. I’m stopping myself from moving forward. I can’t get past myself, so I try staring past myself. I stare into my own eyes. I slowly lean forward, pressing my forehead on the cold mirror. I’m gazing deeply into my own eyes. Inside them I see me. I’m looking at myself, looking at myself. I press my forehead harder on the mirror. I stare until my vision blurs. I yell, pressing harder. I stare until my vision hurts. I yell until it hurts. I press until I break.

Wonderfooly

Dear Applicant,

We regret to inform you that your Application for a Licence to Remain Terminally Self-Hating has been rejected.

Seeing that you have performed hundreds of thousands of loving and compassionate acts over the years, affecting people around the world with positive moments, no matter how small, we cannot offer you the applied-for License, in spite of the fact that you are fascinatingly human and have made many wonderfooly* cringe-worthy mistakes. In place of the License applied for, we are pleased to offer you a License To Forgive Yourself And Keep Moving Forward, herewith enclosed in pocket-size format. Please keep it near your heart at all times, and refer to it often.

Also included, as an additional consolation prize, is our free Invisible Wrist Tattoo that says “Stop,Think, Act” in our brand new Developer font. We recommend that you apply it immediately and glance at it whenever you’re feeling the urge to do something cringe-worthy from this moment onwards.

We wish you all the very best in your future endeavours. Please write to us again whenever the mood strikes, and we’ll see what we can do for you.

Sincerely,

Your friends and fans at

the Bureau of Universal Development (BUD).

Adv. with a wonder-inducing foolishness often regretted after the fact, clearly displaying one’s perfectly imperfect human quality.

Little Lapin, Little Lapin

"Little Lapin, little lapin, where are you, little lapin?"

"Little lapin, little lapin, where are you hiding, little lapin?"

"Grand-père, grand-père, I am not hiding underground if that's what you're thinking. I am very close, very near. Find me, find me, grand-père!"

"Little lapin, are you hopping over white clouds with the angels?"

"Non, grand-père. I am very much on land with you."

"Aha! Then you must be near a lake having a leap race with the frogs on lily pads!"

"Non, grand-père. You are mistaken. I am nowhere near any lakes or streams. I am on dry land."

"Ah, then you must be at the Siharra Desert! Escaping ancient curses, and meeting the kings and queens of the Nile!"

"Non, grand-père. I am surrounded by lush greenery, where I am free to hop as I please."

"Oh, now I see. My little lapin must be . . . Here!"

Grandfather Adolphe found his precious granddaughter behind a bush in their garden as he tickles her mercilessly. The granddaughter giggle and laugh as she tries to block her tickle spots, but her grandfather knew every one of them. They always drink tea after playing their favorite game of Little Lapin, a game of which they created, while the granddaughter pours a cup of tea for her rabbit doll.

Only Time Knows

A flash of light

moving forward

new lines of

aging

I am older now

but I stand alongside

our summer hello

and winter farewell

I see you standing

in a locked embrace

holding someone new

and its always too soon

for believing in the distance

Love Letter to a Dying Race

I am not God

though they will call me so

as gears spin faster

I am a nameless observer

I saw a universe with nothing but stars

I shifted the cosmos to be my own

The recipe for life is easier than they think

Anyone with enough knowledge can do it

I must confess they're coming close

Closer to finding me

But I've never interfered in the past

I will not now

They will rise against me when they learn

All this power

I changed nothing but the start

Don't ask why I ignored their prayers

I have no answers

From the beginning

I only wanted to feel less alone

Please...

Don't go

To Prosers

You write about a trip you had

Reality is all we have

You meet the poets joining Prose

Even if nobody knows

Friendships form and you belong

You pray this isn't bullshits' song

I click the funny heart beat sign

And hope anothers' beats like mine

For poets, writers, wanting to

Feel love and comfort others who

Might need to know they're not alone

Prose is like a poets' home
