A diamond
Cinderella and Prince Charming were bored with their mundane lives. Happily, ever after wasn't so happy and they were both waiting for what came after. Cindy sat looking longingly out the window for something to bring a little joy to this very "safe" and boring marriage. Coming up alongside the prince coyly looking at him and attempting to "swing" herself into his lap, only to catch him off guard. He let out a high "pitch" scream, as Cindy landed on his "balls". Spilling them onto the floor she watched them roll under the chair. Realizing she had put him in a "foul" mood, she asked him to 'slide" over so she could pick them up. Attempting to throw one into the bucket and missing. She just watched it bounce "out" and hit him in the eye.
If we were having coffee
If we were having coffee the secrets we would share. Your eyes gazing into mine. The world melting away, only we two are here. Sitting, looking at our future in the bottom of a mug.
If we were having coffee, we would certainly fall in love. Our yesterdays forgotten, Our tomorrows ensconced in mystery, dark and rich like the liquid in your cup. Accompanied by sweet and creamy moments of bliss, alone no more.
If we were having coffee your hand would be in mine. Our hearts beating, synchronized, sharing the rich aroma wafting up on tendrils of steam, a future beyond our dreams.
If we were having coffee, we both know that we’re home, at peace, in love. The days rolling into night, the weeks into months. No beginning no end, just you, me and coffee.
Unseen
Can you see me? Does anyone see me? I’m standing right here, in plain sight. What do I need to do to be noticed, acknowledged? It’s not like I’m a small drab person. I’m tall and have red hair. Who doesn’t notice a red head? I feel invisible, unwanted. That’s not true, I am desired by those who are unavailable, the married, or spoken for. Oh yes and you, the comedian, immature, lonely and broken. Excuse me ma’am do you not see me waiting here? the line starts behind me. What the hell? I must be invisible. That’s it right?
No, that’s not it. People are selfish, self centered. They only see what they want to see. What they need when they need it. You are brilliant, shimmering with love. You are not meant to be seen by all. You are special and you will be seen by those who deserve to see you, love you, need you in their life. Like a butterfly in its cocoon, you will emerge into the sunlight and take flight at the wonder and amazement of those who over looked you.
We
Can you find “The One”? It’s possible isn’t it? I mean you can’t find what isn’t yours yet. So do you actively search? Do you patiently wait? Do you even know what “The One” looks like? Smells like? Feels like? How do you know you haven’t already found “The One” but let them go because you mistakenly believed they were not “The One”. How will I find “The One”? I will start with loving myself. Taking care of me. Doing the things I like, things I love. I will go to that movie, see that play. Take that romantic trip. You see I won’t find “The One” if I haven’t found me first. Only then will “The One” find me, and then become “We”.
Enchanted
My heart is racing, the endorphins are pumping through me. My body humming with excitement as I make my way to you. This can’t be real, the feelings are so intense. I have never felt this way before, like I’m on fire. I sigh in relief as you take me in your arms. We kiss, and the world melts away. We become one, moving in synchronization with each other. Our breathing is shallow and fast. All I can feel and hear is you, and at the moment I think I can’t bear another second of this agony. The world explodes and your love releases in me, around me. There is nothing but bliss. I don’t want to move. I want to stay in this moment forever. You and I together, in sweet rhapsody. The world is seeping back, my vision is clearing your embrace is releasing. You look in my eyes and kiss me softly, as you caress my back. Whispering in my ear, I’ll never let you go. Pulling me tighter to you kisses long and deep. I know, just like Cinderella when the clock strikes midnight, it is time to make my retreat. I leave behind my glass slipper knowing you will come find me. How could you not, you are enchanted and no one else will do.
