The Door
“Don’t let it out. DON’T let it out! DON’T LET IT OUT!” Mother screamed, pointing to the door. It rattled and shook, tremors running up and down the door. There were strange sounds pouring from the inside, sounds that couldn’t be defined. But they grated at her ears, produced tiny fissures in her skull. An icy wind slipped across the grubby tiles of the floor, ensnaring her ankles.
“Be a good girl. Sit in your chair and don’t move.” Mother said between frantic, ragged, breaths.
She sat down in the small white chair, like a throne made out of bones, its beautiful swooping patterns stabbing into her back. She smoothed the wrinkles out of her skirt, only to have the miniscule folds collapse onto each other again and again.
“I’ll be back in a little while, darling.” Mother bent down to plant a kiss on her cheek, and it was like a dry leaf scraping against her face. Mother scurried away, she watched her, willed her to go faster.
She nearly let a giggle. She could barely contain her excitement.
As she heard Mother’s footsteps on the stairs fade away, she stood.
She couldn’t wait to meet her new friend.
Salvagers
I wish to crawl
Underneath your
Forlorn flesh.
To find the letters
That your demons sent.
All I gather
Is just dust and chatter.
Blood as cold as
Heartbroken stares.
I cannot fix you from the inside, love
But I can try to kiss you
We’ll see if you can feel it.
I cannot break the brick walls
That capture you
But I can wade my fingers in your
Midnight hair while
We breathe slowly, or try to.
Will you let me heal you?
Let me rinse the infected wounds
Under your skin,
It’s okay to be broken,
But it’s better to be whole,
Trust me love,
The world is beautiful
If your heart is free of rust.

Silent Weeping
"He was supposed to be dead..." I walked up to the girl who now sat on my porch crying her eyes out as she looked over the feild. I place a gentle hand on her shoulder smiling down at her softly understanding her pain, after all; i was a weeping mess when it first happened aswell. ”How unfair” i think to myself as i comfort her sitting down next to her and rocking her as she cried.
“This isn’t fair!” she yells in between sobs voicing my exact thoughts “H-He was supposed to be dead...I....I...” She can barely say another word as she relives her trauma and breaks down again. I mean can you blame her? It’s not everyday someone kills all of your friends, and when you stab him eight times in the back in attempt to escape an arrow to the leg tells you hes not dead. She suffered more than the rest of us for wanting to live how truley unfair. I push her head into my chest as the rest of the girls make sort of a comforting barriar around her when he drags her bloody bruised body back into the house to do indescrible things too.
”I should have gotten him help when he was younger, the poor rabbits in our yard. I’m so sorry everyone this is all my fault” I silently apologize to them all as we comfort her for failing as a mother and subjecting them to all of this pain. So i shall stay here and atone for my sins until the day someone escapes and brings the gils who roam this land peace and justice.
A Paved Destiny
Cleaning out and letting things go. I’m no longer holding on to things that don’t help me grow.
The momentum is building, I can feel it in my bones. The winds of change are blowing me straight into the unknown.
I’ve got a plan this time so just you wait and see. I’m gonna take us higher than you ever thought you’d be.
You won’t have to worry, just go and do your thing. I’m not holding you back you see, for my love comes with no strings.
I’ll prepare the ledger and if you prepare the land, and when the time is right we’ll build it with our bare hands.
There’s no telling what will happen next, somethings are beyond our control. But I won’t let that stop me from listening to the voice in my soul.
This is no fantasy or fairytale, no wishful thinking here. They told me to get ready for fulfillment time is near.
The cards are on the table and all the low hands have already been played. So I’m going all-in this time you see, my destiny has been paved.
The End
She huffed...He puffed...She puffed
He huffed They huffed and they
puffed and they puffed and
they huffed, till they
couldn’t huff
and puff
any
more
and they
still couldn’t
blow away all the
letters and words of this
world. "They" were written
into a story with the very letters
and words they tried to blow away
being devoured by the Big Bad Wolf.
The End
