Fishermen are to be Feared
The Sea is teeming with Fish today,
You say.
It is always teeming with Fish,
Ready to answer your every wish.
You cast your Bait
And then await.
“It’s never too late.”
Your hook of False Worms,
It has lured your innocent prey,
You hold your grip firm,
And you begin to say:
“I have caught one to admire,
Do not scold me, it’s not dire.
I am not the Liar that you make me seem-
Oh, look how that river teems.”
Never satisfied
Will you continue to fish till all has dried?
You hold your prize,
And lock your eyes,
But only for a while.
“I do no harm!
I cast them back, you see.
After all,
They belong in the Sea.”
I do no harm
But it’s plain to see,
The scars you leave
As though they were
Your Enemy.
The mark of your Hook
Of Your False Worms
Remains a reminder
Of what you took.
You elate them
You suffocate them
But either way
Death’s written in Fate
Without any Bait.
Beneath It All
See me at my happiest.
See me when I lie.
See me when I am boastful.
Yet why don’t you see me cry?
See me at my proudest,
And when I paint the town green.
See me at my lowest,
When the days are the slowest.
See me as I bloom.
I sway like a dancing daffodil.
See me at night,
To make my heart take flight.
But I am a lonely soul,
Waiting to be loved.
I dream of dreams that cannot be reached.
And I weep and wilt away with my selfish desires.
Grey
Such a free essence you portray.
You fly freely in the wind,
Yet your wings are a soft grey.
My heart beats rapily,
As I stop and stare.
Your eyes gleam with light.
Your smile ignites the night.
Oh! What colours I see amongst this grey.
A rainbow that only I can percieve beyond this sight.
By day, beauty is something I cannot compare to you.
And on this pleasant day,
As your wings illuminate.
I saw life behind such a colour called grey.

A Distant Approach
A Love so tender and sweet.
A Hand so warm and comforting.
This Joy I will never meet.
This Delight filled with suffering.
A Love so bewitching and fickle.
A Hand so distant and cold.
This Heart now weeps
With endless woes to behold.
A Lie so kind.
A Love so blind.
A Pain only I knew.
"I love you, and only you."
