Drowned
I was purchased on impulse at Target. You opted to take me from the clerk when asked, no bag for me. Shoved into your pocket, I thought we'd be together forever. I dreamt of the places we'd go and the sights we'd see. It was not meant to be as our relationship ended less than 48 hours later, in your Maytag.
Dirt
Everything beneath your feet is dirt. It was here before you, it will be here after you. Why do you wage war for dirt? The dirt does not care you are there. The dirt will engulf all bodies all the same. You are arrogant to think you are different. The dirt will claim you as it will with all.
The insects of the dirt do not value your family name. They do not respect your title. They are unimpressed with with your vaults of gold. Fighting to own more of your eternal resting place is but a fools task. The insects will carry you off and scatter your flesh beneath the dirt. What you once temporary owned, now will eternally own you.
Contentment
Being happy with what you do have. Being okay with what you don't have. More doesn't equate happiness. Less doesn't mean deprived. Things are meant to be used. People aren't meant to be things. Don't use things as a measure of your worth. Your measure of worth is about far more than just things.
