Stuck in Between
"You are stuck with me, whether you like it or not." Martin snarled as he grabbed a young girl's arm and she screamed.
"N... no!! Get away from me!!" She screeched at him as she pryed his fingers off of her arm.
She took off at a dead run toward the forest up ahead, and he took off quicker than she realized. He slid in front of her and grabbed her again. He smiled as she felt barriers go up around her heart. She gave in as her eyes went dull and she slightly smiled at him.
"Come with me, baby. I shall love you forever and ever." He said sweetly as he wrapped his arm around her shoulder.
"Yes, sir." She said as she walked away with him.
A few weeks later, she neglected making dinner. She went to bed in tears and she was asleep by the time he got home. He shook her and she didn't wake up. He shoved her off the bed and she woke with a start. She got on her hands and knees, to stand up but had no energy to do so.
"Where is my dinner?" He asked angrily.
"Did you not read the note?" She asked him as she used the bed to help her stand up.
"You mean the note saying to take that $40 and go eat a restaurant? Yeah, I read it. I want a home dinner for the boys and I tonight!" He snarled at her.
"I... I am sorry. I will go fix you and your boys dinner and snacks while you guys watch the game." She said as she tucked her wings tight against her body.
She went to the kitchen and starte making dinner as all the guys started making noise in the liveing room. She took them a cooler full of ice and beer, snacks, appetizers and the plates of dinner she had made for all of them. She started walking away when Martin threw a can at her. She picked it up off the floor and looked at it.
"We need more beer. Run to the store and get some more." Martin ordered her.
"No." She said quietly.
"What did you just say?" He asked as the guys and him looked at her.
"No." She said a just a little louder.
"What did you say?" He asked again.
"I said no!! I am done with your orders!! I am done with you and your guys coming over and getting drunk every Friday and Sunday!! I am tired of doing the chores around here!! I am done with you!! I am done with everything you have put me through!!" She snarled as her wings spread wide open and she lunged at him.
He had no time to react. She grabbed his throat and started choking him as she flapped her wings, feathers of gold and silver flying everywhere. She enjoyed the thrill of him dying under her hands. The other men stood back as Martin struggled to breathe under her constrictive grasp. He took his final breath and his whole body went limp. He was no longer fighting her, no more struggle, no more chores to do. She turned around to see the other men standing back, scared to death.
"Who's next?" She snarled as she noticed the floor was a mess.
"No... Nope." They all stammered as they looked at her, scared.
"Clean this floor up and dump the body in the dumpster nearby. I am going to bed." She snarled.
"Yes, ma'am." They all said as they started cleaning.
She went to bed with a smile and she fell asleep almost immediately.
deal with it, kid
Do you have a problem with me?
Well, too bad kid.
You're stuck with me.
...
Kid, I can't understand you when your mumbling like that. Speak up.
...
So what if I'm Death?
...
Ew, you humans are so weird.
Kid, do you see any zombies or skeletons covered in blood anywhere?
...
Kid, I'm a teenager.
I didn't ask to be Death, it just...happened?
....
Aw, you hate me that much?
Well, would this make you feel better?
...
Oops.
....
Well, how was I supposed to know dogs here didn't have three heads on Earth?
...
I was being sarcastic, kid. Tip number one, I'm very sarcastic.
...
Well, my job's to protect you. Boss' orders.
...
Of course it was. Who do you think is my boss?
Kid, you got a lot to learn.
...
I know you know your multiplication tables. I've been watching you for a long time.
...
That's not stalking, kid. Stop holding your fists up like that.
...
What, you think that little metal knife's gonna hurt me?
...
Oh.
Sorry kid. Are you okay?
...
Well, it's your fault for not asking. How was I supposed to know kids didn't know I'm not solid?
...
It's not a life choice kid. Now shut up and show me where a reaper can get some decent sushi around here.
...
Kid. I don't eat human souls. That's disgusting. I only eat diet souls.
...
Kid, I was being sarcastic again.
