The custodials
he died, one story ended.
at processing he was cleared,
it was mostly just a formality.
the HR looked at his sheet,
good with kids,
sucks at math,
interest in music? oh, well..
well you get a job either way.
you linger on or you choose to sleep.
but if you stay,
you get put in charge.
it’s usually not very stresful,
unless that’s what you ask for.
thrill seekers get put in charge of some zeebras,
make sure at least some,
don’t get eaten.
if you want something more long term, you can get that,
maybe a srurdy bolder,
or a tree.
the guy could not decide,
the HR showed him,
the positions opening.
there was an 18th century barcarolle,
a lichen groth near Perth,
an extinct volcano on planet mercury,
a pinecone?
maybe a nice sunken sloop ?
a sea urchin with trust issues?
hsa
he still was not sure, still was not sure,
so the HR put him on a crew,
take care of a bunch of pebbles,
he personally has three oblong grays,
and one mostly rounded greenish one,
that is chipped in a few places,
with a stress line.
he can sing to the rocks, keep them as safe as he can.
mostly, the guy just hangs around,
talking with the other custodials.
he’s got no worries, no complaints.
the pebbles glow for him sometimes,
but if they didn’t,
it would be fine, too.
