Spontaneous Combustion
I sang alone
a bittersweet melody
until you perched beside me
started a spark
spontaneous combustion
molecules of lust entwined
resonance igniting
bonding of lonely atoms
an artistry of chained electrons
your chemistry asking me to stay
mixtures of chemicals
changing patterns
opposites attracting
optical radiation
of blinded impulses
connecting and completing
fused motion of fluidity
volcanic eruption
merged together
in human passion
of entangled ions.
By George, I think I’ve Got It!
Don't you know I need [H2O] to live,
And [O]xygen to breath!
You paint the room with your hate,
a looming toxicity.
It is not to breath!
I'll not stand it and I'll abandon this mixture of problems
with no solutions.
Where you to me (in theory)
can ruin
a perfectly good conclusion.
You're always stating a problem,
igniting some confusion.
That then I must hypothesize on,
And troubleshoot,
And stew in.
I'd apply the scientific process at this point because it is all I can rely on with you gaslighting me.
You make me question constantly my reality,
but not in the good way that fuels discovery.
I've uncovered now that we are not meant to be.
We can leave it at that,
a statement of fact,
And enough proof for me.
Let's just say we didn't have chemistry!
Nectar of the Gods
A cascade of hot H2O
pours over carbohydrates
Extracting monosaccharides
Activating amylases
Hydrolysis
The mixture is separated
and sent to a new basin.
Humulus Lupulus dives
into the bath
Contributing alpha acids
reducing sweetness, enhancing aroma
The humulone is later isomerized
The liquid is cooled
Sent to an anaerobic environment
to begin a dance with some eukaryotes
and eventually kick off some
fermentation.
