She was a student
Nothing more basic
Surely not an A student
But society never said she was a student
I never seen any much difference
Between her and them,
Society pushed her aside,
Like her being a student changed something
He, well was he a student?
No, he was a business man
Society tagged him as a drug dealer
They said he killed people
By the corner, next to the drug store
He used to trade books for money
Society said he was a bad example
A bad example for the society
She never aced her Maths test,
But was better at counting than all of us
She never wore the most expensive
But her fashion taste was incredible
She dreamt of becoming an artist
But society said she couldn't
She couldn't be anything more than a student
He was a claustrophobic one
Scared of those closed areas
Yet society said he loved living
There in the dark
He loved hearing his victim scream
Screaming his name as he takes
Life away from them
She was lonely,
He was special,
She walked and cried in the night,
He had no customers to trade with
She passed by him,
He sees a student,
She was not scared,
He was not sure,
She crossed the street,
He caught her hand,
Hey are you a student?
I would love to exchange some books
I will give you money,
I need to acquire knowledge
To become a business man
She did not say a word
His eyes into her eyes
She felt the passion in his words
Society said he was a drug dealer
She believed he was a businessman
Society said she was not a student
He believed she was a student
The years passed by
They believed in each other
So strong, so hard
That no matter the identities
Society will give them
No matter the labels,
Society would give them
They will remain themselves
They found themselves once
They found each other and
They live to stay true to themselves
After all.
