Don’t Look Back
Shed your snakeskin
’neath your feet
spur of moment
Just walk on down the road!
lone wolf howls forlorn
as sublime is savored
in willful nights
Just walk on down the road!
sense and sup
the sinful skin
unlock handcuffs
of tight restraint
Just walk on down the road!
grab the radiance
of smiling sun
ignite the sky
in pain and fury
Just walk on down the road!
seconds lost
if you pause
your breath
find the place
where yesterday
absconds
Just walk on down the road!
endless horizons
feel every sensation
of ecstasy
immerse waist deep
in fervent oceans
Just walk on down the road!
Just do it!
Some of the best adventures ever had
Were those that were never planned.
Some of the best laid plans
Are never brought to fruition.
Take life as an adventure, everyday is a discovery of new and wonderful things!
You can't plan happiness or joy or life's little miracles.
Nothing in my life worth having was ever planned.
The one time I made plans to take my Grandaughter with my mother and my niece to the falls, a place our family has gone to for recreation and relaxation, before we could go Death whispered to me, and my mother died two weeks later in the hospital.
No time for planning!
Just do it!
How do we get there?
Set a goal
Make a plan
Follow through
And you might make it there
Give a shrug
Catch the wind
Act on a whim
And end up who knows where
Where do you want to be?
GPS
Tell me the way
Plan the route
And I’ll obey
Without a guide
I’m left with guesses
My life becomes
A lot of messes
I know how I want to travel
Come with me, we’ll go together
Reach for the stars and Ever After
Eyes ahead, let’s drive from sunup
We’ll stay the course and ne’er give up
But if along the way we see
Unexpected opportunity
Stop the car, get out and run
It’s ok to break for fun!
Which Way?
"And that ends my speech on 'Gone With the Wind or Casablanca, Whodunit Better?' I'll now take questions on either story; the literary aspects or the lessons learned from them...Yes, you down front."
"Ms. High, both of those stories show the bad consequences of leaping before one looks. So, what do you think? Should life be planned to a tee or lived spur of the moment?"
"Hmmm...Should life be planned to a tee or lived spur of the moment? That is the question. And a fine question it is, too. Let's see...
Sadly, I have no real answers. My first thought was "planned to a tee", cuz 'Tee', duh! *lol* But no, no, spontaneitee *giggle* is good, too, cuz who really wants to be tied down to previously-made plans all the time?
Being the Libra that I am, I think Life should really be a good balance of both. Perhaps plan the big and "IM-POR-TANT" things like house-buying, children-having, and popcorn-buying (Wha-at? There are SOOO many to choose from!), whereas other things can just be done in the moment. Things like going on a long drive, having sex, and making popcorn...or all of the above for a REALLY good time. *waits for the laughter*
I'll take an example from Gone, since that's obviously my favorite of the two flicks. Scarlett kept marrying the wrong men in the spur of the moment. And she, along with her husbands...well, except for poor Charles Hamilton, but I digress...regretted it! But, she gave a lot of thought to what she would do with the mills and so they flourished... Now, on the other side of the coin, even though it caused quite the ruckus, I think that her spontaneously dancing with Rhett at the bazaar was a great thing to do. All things considered, she enjoyed herself and it left no lasting negative consequences.
Now, I'm certainly not condoning that we base all of our decisions on Scarlett or Rhett or even Ilsa or Rick and their actions, but we can learn a thing or two from them, just the same.
Thank you for that question, Ma'am...Next!"
