Slow Dance
Martin Price is a 26 year old virgin who was an absolute nerd growing up and pretty much the stink of it never left him. He is 5'10 with broad shoulders and athletic build but he was never into sports. Dark hair with glasses and a garanimals wardrobe, he had the body for it but the ability, it just wasn't there.
In my story stub in my head, Martin spent almost all of his time as a research analyst since graduating college, but he never was good at getting the girls. He always loved from afar, but never had the courage to go get them. This was the biggest disappointment of his father, who never, EVER, lets Martin forget that fact.
Martin's father, Dennis Price, was and still is the ladies man. He is a high level executive at the marketing firm Martin works at and he is banging every lady he can snare.
UNTIL, Amber Hines comes through the door as a new graphic artist she has black hair, pale skin and she is found attractive by almost every male in the firm. She is almost as sweet as she is attractive. Many of the men in the firm fall prey to this combination as she doesn't know how to let guys down. So she is thought of as a tease or a girl who leads guys on. She is heard one day by Martin, that her favorite thing to do is to go out clubbing, but not to drink just dance.
Hearing this Martin is crestfallen as he doesn't know how to dance. If he is doesn't know how to dance, how is he going to get the girl? So being the research analyst that he is, he musters up the courage to go get lessons. The rest is blah blah blah blah...but that is what I have for characters not put down on paper yet.
I've had this story in my head for a while, but never put it down, it is trash...but its my trash...don't no one copy it.

An Unlikely Ally
Nuri is not like the others in the prison camp. Though she totes her young son on her hip, she is not your average soccer mom. Though her husband dotes on her, she is not a typical loving housewife. Everyone knows it. Nuri Thagalinki is the daughter of Nasir Thagalinki, a gangster who happily sells unmarked prescription drugs to anyone with money, with no exceptions. That was one thing that always bothered Nuri, but she never talked to her father about it. Even his own children knew not to question him. Nasir, born on a peninsula that now fenced out the world, came a long way from a scared orphan. He was able to claw his way to the surface and bring his family up with him, despite their downfalls.
These downfalls, as Nasir often saw them, lacked the right sex organs. Though his homeland praised women far more than they praised men, his country pushed the standard patriarchal agenda, and Nasir ate the words up like a starving orphan. He needed a son, and married until he got one. Through those marriages, Nasir created six beautiful daughters and one son. The birth of his son brought tears to his eyes, and he carried the boy everywhere he went. Of them all, Tairo was spoiled. By teaching his son the ropes, Nasir had inadvertently spoiled him until he was so rotten, rodents ran from him. The boy's death, at eleven, in a horrific train accident, left scars on the man that never healed.
The one person that tried to heal him was his wife, Barah, who nurtured and cared for the family since he met her. Though she was his third wife, he loved her dearly. Nuri was her third child, and his fifth. Her father never devoted much attention to her, instead intent on the family business and protecting the girls from it, but her mother and sisters doted on her. One thing they learned early on was that Nuri could argue. She would spend hours arguing until her entire face was red and she was dripping from the heat of her intensity. Early on, they knew she would become the family lawyer and replace Mickey, the family's 93 year old uncle who had been defending them for years. Nuri studied in various universities, finally ending in the largest private university in her hometown.
She wed a classmate, Gerek, soon after and the couple started life together. They moved to the outskirts of a sanctuary city, since they were barred from coming in, and settled down. Nuri got pregnant and gave birth to her daughter Rondi, but everything went downhill from there. The neighborhood was raided and she and her family (including the infant) were arrested for connections to drug trafficking. Nuri's father was devastated. He did his best to make her stay comfortable, but he couldn't. he wan't even able to see his two other grandchildren, Mehri (who was adopted into the family) and Lyron. Though they are more than they seem, both Nuri and Gerek keep a low profile. The worst thing they can do is give themselves away, especially now that Nuri's sister, Fouzia, is running her father's business and her mother is wasting away. They can only dream that one day their five year sentence will be over or the bombs from the war will kill them.
She’s
She's feisty that one, with her brown curly hair
and chocolate brown eyes.
She's a fire angel that one, with her charred wings
and hands of flames.
She's loving that one, caring for her not real siblings
and people she saves.
She's intelligent she is, choosing what to do
in a split second.
She's sarcastic that one, cracking jokes
and puns every second.
She's strong that one, not many would be
able to survive what she did.
She's misunderstood that one, no one gets her
or her actions for that matter.
She's lonely that one, even though she has her brother
and friend forever.
She's beautiful that one, with her sharp cheekbones
and plump lips.
She's amazing that one, ready to take on anything
or anyone that comes near her.
Joker
My character doesn't have a name. He is a joker. I'll name him Joker for the purpose of this write. Joker is ever present and looming. He waits in the shadows of a dark day. He LIVES to pop out and scream at you. Joker has the most outrageous scream. His scream was derived from a Halloween cassette tape of about 1980. He screams with satire and humor. His scream sounds loud and ridiculous. His overbearing meant to scare little kids scream makes me laugh.
For example, if I absentmindedly 'exit' my window on the computer. I hear Joker bust out that scream. I cannot help but laugh inside. I cannot be frustrated as anyone would be. Because Joker screams.
Joker has a huge mouth. I'd say his mouth must be likened to that of a horse. He stays in the shadows so he is not seen by the eye therefore most difficult to physically describe. He will follow you everywhere you go. He's just waiting to scream at you when someone ate the last brownie, you get startled, break your phone or even get notification of a bank error on your account.
When Joker screams in your ear at you, you cannot help but feel humors' euphoria. His scream never changes all the while it is funny every time.
I wish for all who read this to develop your own Joker. I'm tellin' ya he's a character. He's so funny showing up at the times you might need him most.
I love my Joker. I hope he follows me all the days of my life.
pluck
Blaise really isn't a name for a street rat like her, but it's hers and she loves it. It rolls off the tongue smooth-like, makes getting her attention a hell of a lot easier. Lets people think, sometimes, that she isn't some scrawny, scruffy girl with sunburnt cheeks -- and that's the way she likes it. Let them talk. The last thing she needs is a horde of charlatans coming after her, especially when she's got enough on her hands as it is. There's a woman she needs to find: one with long fingers, lustrous teeth, and dark, dark eyes. The one who plucked her breath from her throat the moment her master was slaughtered, the one who cursed her for trying to intervene. She wasn't strong enough then -- her form gasping and collapsing next to her beloved master -- but she will be soon. And when she is, she'll take back the breath that is rightfully hers, slay the woman-beast, and take up her master's name.
Or so she hopes. For now, all she's got is her master's cloak, a voice that refuses to be heard, and, strangely enough, a bear willing to act as an interpreter. Luck, too, she supposes. And with hunters and minions alike on her trail, she'll need all the luck she can get.
At the very least, she's got a bear(?) on her side.
Not Prominent but Loved
Jamie is barely a necessary part of my book, and he certainly isn't a prominent character- featured in only three or four scenes. But, I developed and got attached to this guy anyway.
The first thing you should know about Jamie is that he is deaf so he always carries around a pad of paper and pen. He can read lips, so the paper is for him to communicate with others.
In my science-fiction book, he is assumed to not have any super powers which is the norm in the story's universe. However, in reality, he does have a power; it's just subtle.
He can sense vibrations, whether they are strong like a ground-splitting earthquake or as small as the rattling anger in someone's breathing. It helps him to detect when things are coming- cars, earthquakes, people walking, etc., to feel other people's emotions in their voices, or just to feel the door open and close when his parents get home.
Jamie is really just a sweetheart. It takes a lot to get him upset, and he really empathizes with people and animals, so he likes to see everyone happy. Being non-verbal, Jamie is very good with animals or small children. Animals aren't prevalent in the book's world, but he does what he can for the ones he finds- feeding them, taking care of them if they're hurt, etc.
He has a natural instinct for calming people down. Something about the way he moves or looks at a person is calming. It probably has to do with the sensitivities of his power, letting him know things about the person's emotional state. So, this makes him especially good with kids.
He is pretty tall but not exaggeratedly so- just enough for it to be noticeable. He has brown hair that's usually messy, and he wears loose-fitting green clothing. You might look at him and think he looks frail, but he's just always been lanky.
If I had to sum up Jamie, I would probably equate him to that one person everyone knows or has known that just cares about everyone. The kind of person who won't focus on the negative in their life if there's something positive to focus on instead.
So, is this too much detail about character I barely mention in my book? Probably, but Jamie is a part of the character family nonetheless. And I'll love him as much as I do the main characters of the book.
Alyssa Callaway
A delusional schizophrenic who finds a way to control her disease by playing into the hallucinations. After being abandoned by her East coast blue-blood family, she decides to literally create a new life for herself in the middle of Ohio. She works at a diner but in her mind, she's an exotic dancer. The checkered tiles make the perfect dance floor. She makes friends with Pierce and Colleen, teen family-farmers who, in their boredom, entertain Alyssa's "wild imagination".
Characters from Elementum
These are the some of the main characters in my story The Elementum War, where a boy must find a magical flower to summon a strong hero, and save his and the world of elements. I've already posted my prologue, and will soon post part of the story for a certain challenge. This won't have any spoilers to my story.
1.) Edur: He is the main character of the story and is related to another main character from another story; they're twin cousins with opposite personalities. He's twelve years old, lives in the country, and has a unique appearance like red-violet eyes, a trait that's sometimes common in his family. He can be a bit clumsy.
2.) Princess Yura of Terra-Mi: She is the ruler of Terra-Mi, the plant kingdom, with a mature and noble personality. She has grace, beauty, wisdom, and a motherly heart for all things living. Though she may look delicate as a flower she knows powerful earth magic that'll blow your minds away. Her parents died after her birth, so she grew up without parental guidance.
3.) Princess Ellen of New Atlantis: A spoiled mermaid on the outside, but inside she is caring and loyal to her friends. She's different from the other merfolk, which will be revealed later in the story. Princess Ellen has a magical necklace, used only in the royal family, that helps her walk on land with her friends. She's the princess of the water kingdom.
4.) Prince Kai of Flamia: A hot-headed teen with flaming hair, which most fire-folk have, tan skin and amber eyes. A stubborn prince, who becomes best friends with Edur, but quickly gets into to fights with Ellen. He's athletic and easily provoked, but will risk anything for his friends. Prince of the flame kingdom, has an older sister, calls Edur "Ed" for short.
5.) Prince Ven of Ventus: A shy and timid prince, whose whispers were quiet as a mouse. His people, the cloud-folk, are usually optimistic and care free, but Ven is too shy to express himself. Prince of the wind kingdom.
6.) Princess Addallen of Arutrum: After her mother died the princess swore vengeance to the neighboring kingdoms, but what she really wanted was compassion from them, and for the war to end. Addallen wanted everyone to see that her people weren't monsters, and that there was no evil in her realm. She was a noble princess with a proud heart, but she never found peace until later. Princess of the shadow kingdom.
7.) Prince Kalos and Princess Nikoli of Sololem: Twin angels who are happy and caring. They're close friends with Prince Ven. Prince and Princess to the light kingdom. These two are very special to me because they represent someone special to me. My sister-in-law was supposed to have a baby years ago, who could've been my niece or nephew, but she had a miscarriage. It was my first time that I lose an unborn child, and I'm someone who really loves to play with kids. That would've been my second time being an aunt, which could've make me really happy. I was so sad to hear the news, so at the end of the day, when I was feeling better, I decided to make my unborn niece, or nephew, as a special character in my story. Since we didn't know the gender of the baby that's when I decided to make them twins, for both boy and girl. I asked my sister-in-law what was going to be the names for each gender which was "Carlos" and "Nicole". They sounded too human for the story, so I changed it to something closer. Not angel-like names, I know, but still.
And that's it! These are the main characters of my story, which I feel has potential to become famous someday out of all my stories. No one steal my characters!!!
Misseri, Gwyneth
Gwyneth Misseri is the crowned princess of Eden, a transcontinental country in Eastern Europe crossing into Asia where all crime is legal. She is the protagonist of Tear Garden who brings together a team of some of the most lethal killers in the world to aid in the search and slaughter of her family's murderer. She is seventeen years old, however, and is forced to grow herself as a person while juggling the stress of her Senate wishing to overthrow her and the rebellions in the country drawing closer to the days of her coronation.
Now here's some excepts from Tear Garden about her!
1) "Eden is around seventy-seven thousand square miles. My mother had me memorize that as a way to help convince me of my power over others. I own seven-seven thousand square miles. 76.3 million necks strung about my fingertips. Three official languages; English, Russian and Mandarin Chinese. Currency. Power."
2) "Michaela always shakes his head and comments, 'a lady shouldn’t drool when there’s food involved.'
I retort with, 'as a man, you shouldn’t be responsible for knowing a lady’s place.'"
3) “'Do I really need a tutor for dancing of all things?' I whine, taking a sip from my coffee. 'No offense to the instructor, but the waltz isn’t my forte.'
“'Well, you do have that gala coming up.' Michaela opens up the ironing board and plugs the iron into a nearby outlet before smiling brightly at me. 'Although, if you want to make a fool out of yourself like your slip-up last year stepping on your partner’s toes repeatedly, be my guest.' My face reddens drastically and I scowl at the servant, crossing one leg over the other with my arms crossed over my chest.
“'It’s not my fault that insufferable piece of shit has giant feet.'
“'Language, princess.' Michaela smirks at me and leans on the ironing board closer to me so that his face was a less than a foot away from mine. 'Must I warn you that a lady of power does not swear? Unless it’s behind closed doors in the bed, of course.' My face continues to heat up more and more. Okay, so yeah, I had a crush on Michaela when I was younger and ever since he found out, he teases me without end. He’s an asshole, but an incredibly attractive one at that.
I avert my eyes from his, not wanting to even look at the coy son of a bitch."
4) "Sometimes I forget that, despite being my butler, Michaela lives a real, normal life. Or, at least he wants to. Being associated with me keeps him restrained from normalcy in pretty much every situation. I feel bad when I think about it because I want Michaela to have everything in the world. But he could only have it if he left me. I’m too selfish to let that come to pass."
5) "'First off, I wanted to inform you all that if you haven’t understood already, I’m the princess of this country now,' Gwyneth began, breaking the silence. 'That means that my word is God. Gretal, you understand, correct?'
"'Y-Y-Yes, mistress,' my mother choked out, teary eyed.
“'Good. I’m glad you get it.' Gwyneth was smiling at her, arms folded behind her back as she strode over to me. I shot her a look, silently questioning what was going on. She ignored it and strode to my side, taking my arm and leaning against my shoulder. She wasn’t looking at me, but her thumb rubbed circles into my elbow. 'As your God, I am declaring that you all have sinned in the worst way possible.' Her smile widened. 'You raped your son,' she said, voice cheery, 'and you raped countless other children. You molested me, too. But if it wasn’t for Michaela here, I would have been in even worse shape than I am today.'”
6) "'Do it,' she whispered in my ear. 'You’ll love it.' When she pulled away, I was stunned, and I stared down at her. She tells me at times whenever we mention what happened that my eyes were unreadable and that she was even a little nervous that I’d turn the gun on her. But she was right."
7) "'I bet.” I sigh a little. 'I was really looking forward to college.'
"'I'm sure it’s not too late, Princess. I mean, you can always install some form of Parliament to help make laws for you--'
“'No.” Morgan stops talking. 'Sorry, but no. I don’t trust the people here to go along with the vision I want. And I can’t just out and kill them if they screw up. Then I’ll look like the bad guy.'
'You’re the leader of the true Free World,' she chuckles. 'You’ll always be the bad guy.'”
8) “'Hunter.'
“'Gwyneth.'
“'You and I aren’t friendly enough to call me by my first name.'
“'Oh yeah, like I care about what Her Highness thinks.'
“'Look, I’m too tired to deal with your attitude right now--'
“'Cut the shit, Princess. Just tell me what you’re giving up and maybe I’ll think about flying out tonight.'
“'You’re fucking insufferable, you know that?'
'Only the best for the crown princess.'”
9) “'Just the people we kill or…?'
'“Everyone.' I’m intrigued.
“'And if you die?'
"She chuckles a little bit. 'I’m your’s.'
“'Tempting, but I have a girlfriend.'
“'Jesus Christ, I feel sorry for that woman. Such violence she has to put up with in the bedroom. And looking at your ugly face as you fuck her. Ugh.'
'Come back to me when you’ve lost your virginity,' I deadpan, not in the mood and my interest slipping. I know I hit I’ve hit a nerve at the tch that rings through the line."
10) "Her face is an adorable shade of pink. When Gwyneth is incredibly embarrassed, the blush in her cheeks travels throughout her skin to her ears and down her neck, something I find hilarious."
11) "'B-But Hunter,' she wheezes, grinning wider when I bare my teeth in rage, 'they left you out on the streets. To die.' Another laugh. I don’t know how to react. I don’t know whether to feel scared or angry that she’s not scared or angry. I feel weak all over again, just like how I was the day she ruined my life for the second time. Her eyes shift over to my claw and she retracts her nails from my hand only to move towards my right arm and guide it closer. She traces her index finger against the deathly sharp edges and pricks the insignificant layers of flesh on the tip, watching it bleed with a grin. 'S-See?' A labored breath. 'Isn’t that nice?'
And then she grabs my arm and yanks it closer to her face, letting my claw scratch under her cheek. Blood rains down immediately even though I’ve barely touched her. I tense up. I don’t want her touching me. She’s a sickness. She’s a plague."
12) "Her highness, on the floor still, pouts up at me. 'Tch. Disappointing.' She sighs and wipes the blood from the gashes in her hands onto her shirt. 'Should have known you’d be weak. But oh well. I hope you man up enough later when we track down my parents’ murderer.' She looks up at me when I don’t react or respond. The guards of her house created a blockade at the door, Michaela manning them, ready to protect their princess. Gwyneth glances at them and giggles, waving a hand. 'Don’t worry, guys. False alarm. Just reuniting with my step-brother. Thanks for the concern though!'”
13) "'If you get old, that means you’ll die.'”
14) “'B-But what if something were to happen to us?' I’m not smiling. My eyes shift to the ground and I sniff, tears stuck in them. 'I’m afraid of being alone.'”
15) "'Everyone liked her. She was even like the mother I never had. Maybe my real mother was like that. I can’t recall…' Sometimes I forget the things my family did for Michaela and Hunter. They faced so much trauma and heartbreak, but they came in and saved them. Treated them like their own children. And I hated that desperately even though I had no right to be jealous."
