Dinosaurs
My favorite animal?
There's truly one group of animals that I favor the most. Dinosaurs. Big or small, feathered or non-feathered, carnivores or herbivores, I love them all ever since I was a small child.
The thing I've always loved most about dinosaurs is how much we don't really know about them and what we have learned. We used to believe that dinosaurs were no more than giant, lumbering reptiles. Now we understand that they have traits that are more related with birds, including evidence that some species of dinosaurs were feathered. We've found evidence that suggests that some species travelled in herds and migrated, and they were nurturing parents having died next to their eggs. The more discoveries paleontologists make each year is a better understand how of these amazing beasts once lived, and a better understand of the origins of life on our planet. And yet, with the handful of discoveries made, we're still only scratching a small surface of paleontology.

Superior Animal.
My favorite animal is none other than... the dog. I know what you're thinking, "LAME! Dogs are so generic, why don't you pick a cooler animal?" Well, my answer is simple, I have two dogs and they are just about the coolest beings anyone can ever have. It just seems as if they always got your back. They both sleep with me, and although they are both very small dogs, they each need more space than I do. Imagine this, one dog gets one side of the bed, and the second gets the other side. Where do I sleep? On a very thin strip, sideways, at the bottom of the bed. However, it's worth it. Sure, I wake up mad at the fact that my sleep was terrible and my dogs, the size of stuffed animals, have more control over my bed than I do, but it's worth it when I wake up and see them both trying to cuddle next to me. Also, whenever I come home they both dart up from the couch or floor and run to greet me at the door. They always act as if they haven't seen me in years and want to catch up immediately. It's funny the way that they act on an everyday basis as well, sometimes they'll just go on the backs and start fighting the air for merely blowing by. They are just fun, understanding, and non-judgemental animals that don't really care about all the poor or great decisons that you make. The only thing I believe they care about is your presence near them, and an endless food suplly of course. That's another thing, I think I've given them about 25% of my food this year alone. It's hard to not share your food with them when they are just staring you down from the floor continuously licking their lips and wagging their tail. So yeah, I toss multiple pieces of meat their way every now and then to let them know how much I aprreciate them, and I can even get a few tricks out of it every now and then. All in all, this is why I know that dogs are my favorite animal, because I'm happiest when they're chilling right beside me.
