thou is a tremble

a whisper hushed under the skin

thou moves its wings

It fluttered crimson wings

Throwing speckles in the wind

Like a butterfly on my hand

No idea how it has sinned

I crush it gently in my fingers

Sanguine stickiness, it lingers

Of a lying heart squeezed dry

A butterfly’s life, they say

barely as long as a day;

Untrue, I found for it can last

until almost a year has passed.

What of the love that flutters, like butterfly wings in my heart?

It will never part.

Amidst a butterfly garden I float and flutter,

Seeing others float for another,

My days,

Gone,

My time,

Done,

Wonder what happened to the fun,

I breathe my last breath,

Stopping flutters altogether,

My heart for you finishes its run.
