Unknown
home means to come back to oasis
where coffee is in the pot
and the lucky part is
ice-cream is tucked away
in the fridge, always, two flavours
chocolate and peaches, all creams
home is where my mother's picture is
whose smile means the world to me
my trophy is sitting like a queen
and my nightie is lying flatly on the floor
after a late nights movie, i cry
not because it was romantic
but the witch killed a dog
i want to shout out i love him
but then sob down saying
he means nothing to me
as he is married to my best friend
so this is what my home is like
my best friend and we live together
like great pals, into the unknown!
Miserable!
i am just a fake bimbo
he, a smart CEO
i applied for secretary
two month ago
he hired me instantly
i began to read his texts
his wife would text him
every hour and every day
i asked him one day
"Boss, why do you reply?"
he looked at me and replied
"Are you crazy?
her father owns this company!
he'd fire me for sure
if i dont reply his daughter!"
i laughed that silly little laugh
but one day i got fed up
she texted as usual
"Darling, papa is coming,
umm for dinner tonight!
what do you want me to cook?"
my boss had once told me
that his father in law was
allergic to mushrooms
i texted his wife
"Darling, cook lamb,
with white wine and
umm mushrooms!
hmm papa would love it!"
i realized what i had done
after i wrote the text
but i quickly deleted it
so my boss wouldnt see it
i had a minor migrane
because of her stupid
texts and wining and crying
darling this, darling that...
the next day my CEO
barged into the office
he began packing his stuffs
his laptop, his phone,
his camera, his files
he looked confused
and angry, i felt helpless
"Boss, how did the dinner go?
are you on a flight to Los Angeles, sir?"
he looks up at me, nearly yells
"NO! my father in law died last night,
my wife is divorsing me, and
im on my way to the hospital
to fill out a form, and thanks to you,
now my stupid wife wont ever
text me again, i'm finally free!"
i look incredulously at him
and smile, "Me too!"
“I am Sorry!”
magic comes from the way he looks at me
i collide with him and he looks confused
he notices my red hair and my soft curls
i simply wish he would kiss me, hug me
and when he stares deep into my eyes
i know magic happened, a rare one
i put all of my scattered tampoons
which fell out of my bag, him helping as well
and when he realized what he was picking
he blushed the colour of a ripe tomato
and said, "oh, sorry, my apologies!
how clumsy of me, dropping all of your,
ummm, belongings, so deelpy sorry!"
i shrugged and said, "no worries!"
but deep in my heart i know that
it was magic which brought us close!
Into the Forest
there was wilderness everywhere
dense of jade forests surrouned me
the picturesque landscapes reminded me
of the painting i had once hung
but when i remember the painting
those incredible laughters together
me and jimmy had shared, oh, oh
the living room always lit up in orange
i knew that Jimmy would come back
he had apprently decided we needed
a total break, so he can breath air
i didnt know what to do, all i knew
i only wanted him back, achingly
i miss him, like a duckling missing
his mama, and all the sorrows decided
to knock on my door when i woke up
and saw Jimmy’s note, i cried severely,
“Darling, i need time out, from us!
if you need anything, i am leaving
my card and car and the house to you!
Please dont come looking for me!”
one day as i was sipping grean and
lemon tea, i remembered, the painting
how jimmy used to say if he had to
disappear anywhere, he would go
into those lushy green mountains
and never ever come back to the
skyscrappers and monstrous city
my Jimmy was not a lunatic,
my Jimmy was brave like a
ferocious mountain lion, fierce, strong
his character was so impeccable,
admirable in his own right,
like a divine Lord Zeus, born into mortal
like a thunderbolt, his decisions like a
strategic magic, only weapons of words
i remember as i climb one more hill
“WHERE ARE YOU JIMMY!!!
PLEASE COME BACK TO SUZY!!!”
i stumble and i roll over the hill
i land on a bunch of lavender, oh, oh
so rich its scent like iam in nothern England
but i reminded myself that its Ireland
my Jimmy decided to disappear to, oh, oh
i get up and i suddenly see a cottage, small
but a volutpous one, with a neccessary
chimney, smoke billowing, a green
pumpkin patch with a cabbage garden
i breath in and i see a backpack, i gulp
the backpack belonged to Jimmy
i stand and wait for him to come out
and the door slowly opened, i smile
the smile that signified happiness
Jimmy appears and grins, he beckons
i ran to him and i hug him tight
“Oh, Jimmy, i missed you, you had to
leave me for this treacherous green Ireland?”
Jimmy laughs huskily and said solemnly
“Remember i wanted to disappear in the
painting, i didnt tell you its secret, honey!
I’m its painter...i paint anonymously!”
Jimmy opened the wooden door and
to my surprise i see paintings of green
landscapes, of forests and pumpkin patches
i hug Jimmy and i cried and punched him
“Why such a secret, i would have
understood and kept your secrecy!”
Jimmy replied, “When you find a secret
leprechaun and you stumble upon
your pot of gold, all you can think of
is how to be happy with your fortune!”
i realized that Jimmy’s green fortune
was indeed the greenery that basked
his imagination and his hands were the
artist that captured all flora and fauna!!!
Such a Liar....
he was mine, i know he was two days ago
i went to a weekend conference, business, classified
i left my husband in the hands of my friend,
it was a sweet gesture from my end, the two
my husband and my best friend, stay over
and look after my two year old daughter, Yvonne
little did i know that when i came back
things would be chaotic, i would be betrayed, vehemently
the taxi driver dropped me home, i chuckle,
"home sweet home, my little darling, mommy's back,"
i open the door and i see little Yvonne playing, alone
in the living room, and i see clothes strewn, everywhere
first i find a panty, and then my husbands underwear, scattered
i find his blue shirt i gifted him on our anniversary
i find my best friendJessica's jacket, purple, i recoil,
i take a huge breath and i open the kitchen door
i find them locked in embrace, body touching body
i slam the kitchen door and pick up Yvonne and leave
i stay at a hotel and i receive a ring, i dont answer their calls
i feel betrayed, betrayed by my own emotions of trust
i trusted my husband, i trusted my best friend, and they
only betrayed me, hurt me so cruelly, its the second day
iam staying at the hotel and i call up my lawyer, Nate
he tried to calm me down, wipe away my tears
but i wanted a divorce, and then he arrives on my doorstep
it was Jacob, my unfaithful husband, i push my nerves
"Why?" i sobbed, i take up a crying Yvonne, feed her milk
Jacob took a huge breath and sighed, "It happened...
i know there are no excuse for what Jessica and i did..."
I cry out, lash out at him, "Were you two ever going to tell me?"
Jacob shook his head, "No, i wasnt going to tell you..
Nor did Jessica... we wanted you to remain in our lives..."
i sob, i wanted to tear Jacob apart with the final truth,
"i am pregnant with a second child, oh, oh, oh...
i came home early from my conference just to tell you and Jessica..."
Jacob looked at me blankly and asked, "You will not abort the child..."
I shake my head in agreement, i ask him one final request,
"Please sign the divorse papers, Jacob. I will keep both of my kids..."
Jacob looked devastated, he nodded and said, "I will...for you,
if that is what you want..." and he signed the papers put on the table
i show Jacob to the door and and i shut it quietly, i sob...oh, oh, oh...
i touch my belly and i feel the little soul looking forward to a life
but Jacob was beyond explanation, he didnt tell me why he did what he did
i only know that love had just left my world, i pick up crying Yvonne
and i feed her until she's full, i know i wasnt merciful, iam not Jessica...
Mistake...
whipped cream, crunchy cone, double icecream, cherry topping
licking and licking until our laughter takes over
iam with my best friend Jill, over in the icecream parlour
wasnt so sure which flavour to try, coconut, cherry, pistachio, or caramel
but i know that the moment my eyes flicked, i looked over, my heart slammed
standing in a black suit, with neat leather shoes, neat shoe laces, and with a purple tie
is the hunk, tall, lean and with a mascular torso, only enough to melt a womens heart
why did he look so alluring, so mystique, so demanding, “i want chocolate, please!”
Jill nudged me, she was impressed, i only shrugged, “lets go to the ferry ride!”
Jill looked over and her icecream melted, i licked the drip and laughed
was it my laughter or my silly act of licking that caught his attention, but he looked on
i twirled around, more so bolted from the ice cream parlour, i can only say confidently
it was a mistake to look over for he bit his lips and threw a sexy grin, and a cute wave
we walk outside and i lick some more melting icecream, but as we sat down, a saw
a pair of hands, smooth and nealty manicured, give us a cup of caramel icecream
i looked up and saw him, the man with a purple tie, handsome as sin, laughing away
like he never had such a fun in his entire life, forgeting about his first bicycle,
this act was pure, such pleasure in his eyes, the moment he realized he saw fun
Jill doubled over and accepted the caramel icecream, “thanks handsome!”
he smiled his sexy smile once again and im so nervous, like a smooth criminal
whose mind is only in the game of stealing, did i steal this young ambitious mans
attention, for iam not that good at stealing hearts, he shrugs, his shoulders broad
my heart aches and i wave nervously at him and he says, “Welcome, lick this one too!”
i laugh out loud and he only looked at my lips, i know it was a mistake to look at him
he smiled once again and before i realized what he was doing, he licked my pistachio
icream with such an ardent lick that i blushed, his only excuse, “yummy pistachio...
just like you...” and i blush even more and he walked away, his black suit like a panther!
