It would be so impossibly easy to love you
But I can't help that I'm not falling
I looked for a million reasons why
But love never comes calling
I searched for any signs
That you might love me so
But in the end, we fall to Earth
And I'm proud to call you my friend
Our bond does not run through our veins
Our hearts do not share the same beat
But I care for you, and you are the same
We go through life and never feel shame
I could talk to you for hours
And never get bored
You'll be at my wedding, and I'll be at yours
You are the brother I never had
And everyday you are alive,
I know I will never be alone
Blue
It was the color of her lovely eyes
When they reflected the beautiful skies
Feeling morose, rain trickled down from them
Enraged, they became the ocean, those gems
With brutal raging storms wrecking poor ships
And violent winds casting you from her lips
I got lost in her robin's egg eyes from afar
But how fragile the shells always are
The last things I saw before she left
Were sapphires gleaming for another's theft
The color, like her eyes, is full of contradictions
From her lips she spilled beautiful fictions
It's a cold color, ask any painter or poet
Yet still they warm me thinking of them yet
Now another is holding her tonight
Those eyes will close without a fight
But everytime the hydrangas bloom,
I feel insurmountable, dreary gloom
