Give me a dozen
The earth’s tears lay like diamonds
Upon natures crimson velvety pages
Waiting like a book to be read
For a warm breath above it to bring it to life
This gift from the ground
Closed it is like a fine sculpture
Unfurled it becomes a vision of beauty
An expression of love
