I curl up on my perch and I

about gypsies or dreamers or

things that go wrong

but that often get better

as things often do

and then I feel hope

and I hope you do, too.

You are a garden spider

and I am an awfully fortunate

landscaper on those magical

nights we cuddle together

I lie down in bed drained

from everyday obligations,

watching you elegantly weave

a beautiful web until my

whole being is delightfully

tangled up in your fascinating

dreams and nightmares

Don't be ashamed of your scars.

I can show you scars that only dead people have.

Cover them with tattoos and call them creativity.

Smother the "I have scars" blues

And negativity.

They were your escape wounds to longevity.
