Jacqueline Dreams
A rather long chapter of a book I never finished :(

I promised to tag people when I'd posted more, but I never did post more, so...
Sorry guys!
I found Prose like so many others did- when searching for writing contests. What I discovered was much more; a vast community of like-minds, writers, creatives. I found a nice place to chat and explore.
Check the short on how I happened upon the site here

Thanks to everyone who makes up the wonder that is Prose. God bless you all!
Remembering My First Piece On Prose
I had originally entered my short story "Vain Poet" in a contest on Reedsy.com. The story is a parody of the old International Library of Poetry contests from the 90s - early 2000s where every poem entered was chosen as a "semi-finalist," and if you sent them money they would publish your poem in one of their many anthologies (embarrassingly, I took the bait once). Long story short, my piece didn't get approved on the Reedsy site, and I wanted it to have a chance at having an audience, so I published it here on Prose after reading a recommendation for the site from an article by The Write Life (https://thewritelife.com/writing-contests/). Prose became my go to for reading and writing after that, and still is :-)
Here's the link to that story here: https://theprose.com/post/380735/vain-poet. Most of my writings are Bible Journals and Sci-Fi/Fantasy stories, so this one was a fun change of pace.
First Thing
I entered a challenge:
You don't understand...
Write about something that you don't understand or that others may never understand about you or just in general that you want to explain; this is your chance to show what you believe, explain something important to you, or explain who you really are... move me :). Nonfiction (preferable) or fiction, poetry or prose.
That was December 9th, 2019.
I didn't know what to title it so I called it "The Life". I remember I wrote it one night before I had even made an account here while I was thinking of friends who are spiritually lost, which means that they have not repented and put their faith in Jesus Christ. Every single person out there has had something happen to them that has left them emotionally hurting. Some acknowledge it and some don't. Faith in Jesus doesn't promise that it'll all get taken away in a day, though God could do that, but it does help with the biggest problem we all face: where are we going when we die?
I think at first I thought you could only make posts in response to challenges, so there is that.
The first thing I wrote on prose.com...
Concept. That was the title. It was about a nearly shadow-black man, who turned out to be the Moon Watcher, navigating a necromancer's maze, and killing him. The story ends with the dyeing necromancer stabbing the Moon Watcher in the gut.
That was my first post.
Obviously I am not going to say this one wins just wanted to let you guys know...
The first thing I did on Prose was enter the challenge you're a natural by @ColdRamen
and I wrote my second most popular post today, Play Time
The doll is just sitting there, all alone. Giggles heard the girl say to her mom. Giggles had blue eyes and, brown hair, peach skin, and a little smile on her face. She had a little string on her back to make her say things to the person who pulled it. Giggles felt the little girl gently pick her up and spin around with her. The girl stoped when she noticed the string and carefully pulled it. I love you, and I will always love you! Giggles box said, but it spoke for her, she loved the little girl too.
"Please mommy!" the little girl begged "You heard her, she loves me."
I do love you, Giggles thought Please mommy.
"Oh fine," The mom said.
"Yay!" The little girl said as she pulled the string again.
My name is Giggles, and I love you so much. The little girl smiled, and Giggles smiled back.
