Enlightenment
Knowledge opens the shards
of frozen ice to reveal reason why
mind is helplessly chained to wall,
unleashes boundaries from pen -
a new awakening of amber glow
as sun filters mind breaking shackles,
opening up knowledge to consume
the ancient stones, infancy of truths.
Abandoned harmony of life threads dance
kneeling in balance of life bursting forth
like ripe, dripping peaches of wisdom,
resonating on night wind – savage possession
kindled with pain and pleasure entwined,
budding wisdom and time-worn realities,
maze of verity cursed by thirst of all-knowing
reaching for promise in distant starlit skies,
yearning to share bounty of far flung vistas.
Knowledge drives wisdom on wings of fancy,
breathing beneath tangled debris of mind
following different roads to same destination,
fulfilling fiery wishes of uncloaked secrets.
Mystery is disguised by masks of seeking
the bruises of battle scars leading the way,
cherished thoughts of enlightenment unlock
puzzles of mind, opening clear view to lost images.
Windows of light glimmer throughout the denseness,
healing begins and filters through opening mind,
a cocoon awakening to that which you seek
in moonlit sonatas sharing what is meant to be.
Knowledge is not about learning alone but sharing
wisdom imparted in simplicity before submitting
to the mindless grave, watching knowledge march on.
Pawns
Knowledge is power and knowledge is pain,
Truths can shine and truths can scar,
Arts mastered; new secrets learned,
Lies uncovered, pedestals shattered into pieces of glass,
Dark corners shown and destroyers unmasked.
Knowledge is questions and knowledge is answers,
With every answer there's a new question,
Stars and systems uncovered; planets revealed,
Where, what, how, why, when,
The story of life never stops and the canvas grows.
Knowledge is endless and knowledge is short,
Sometimes it lasts forever,
Sometimes disappears with a breath,
Forgotten worlds and history preserved,
The truth is hidden in the cracks,
Languages fade and new ones are made,
Beliefs and religions form and others are lost to the cruel hand of time,
Taking knowledge as it's given.
Power and pain:
Strength and darkness.
Questions and answers:
Obstacles and rewards.
Endless and short:
Life and death.
Knowledge builds a mind,
Destroys one other,
Saves a life for more,
Ends one other is tragedy,
Finds a sickness,
Asks for a cure,
Builds a city out of ash,
Takes it down into the earth.
Knowledge is the ultimate God,
Ruling our lives like pawns,
Moving the pieces,
Choosing and creating the paths,
Killing players,
Giving birth to monsters and saints,
Giving and taking,
Creating...
Knowledge
I wrote this piece a while ago which I LOVE! Therefore, when I read the word “knowledge” I got so excited to re-share it even though I don’t really do challenges except for one or two times. So here is my definition of the word “knowledge” in my own style...
Knowledge is not only in school and college knowledge is everywhere and anywhere,
Whether you seek it or not you will learn. However, as much you seek as much you gain.
I seek just a little and learned some from pain.
Feed me...feed me from books and pain
Feed my hunger water my thirst
Squeeze my arrogance show it who I really am!
knowledge!
Flush into my mind
Through an invisible thoughts to build and create
Create bullets for destruction and medicine for aid
Make wars!...build constructions
Knowledge!
Manipulate our minds-
Weakness in skulls called brain
Give one material, give one blood
And give another a chair
Give one pen give one light
And give another heart of fair
Knowledge!
Feed my hunger...squeeze my arrogance
Show me how much ignorant I really am!
I bought food in a plastic and metal can
With fancy label on it..beneficial table to it
And expiration date on the butt
“Good For Use From Now To Some Decades Ahead”
Healthy and vitamin-ate your organs needs to maintain
I drank blue, yellow, purple and pinky fluids
They said on TV the labels never lies
Will keep you fresh and safe from dehydrate
And “Guardians” were never a fraud
Knowledge!
Feed my hunger and water my thirst
Tell my arrogance how teeny tiny I really am!
How much a page can weight and contains of secrets,
Powers, mysteries! or order and chaos
How much a little tiny virus can destroy
And flip upside down my existence
In thoughts or flesh and blood
And green button can create massive mess!
Or perhaps sets homes on fire but flame-less
How much can merged ink with fancy sheet
Creates 1% and poverty on the other hand...grants
Enhance...feeding up pockets and banks
Knowledge!
Flash into my neurosis like fire
Burn down my arrogance my ignorance and residence
As blindfolded from darkness I shed light
I know what’s good, I know what’s right
While the truth of my knowledge standing from afar
On the other side the, side of the real light-
In depths and heights and limitless
Knowledge!
Thank you for one more lesson!
Therefore, I confess, I acknowledge!
I am, an arrogant, ignorant and way too far
From the knowledge
But for knowledge I thirst...hunger and search!
For my brain and thoughts are limitless
And love in my heart will still exist
Love for partner and love for knowledge.
The Light In The Fog
In the midst of a blanketing fog,
I found myself one day,
In the heart of that serpent's belly,
Who had led many a man astray.
Now this dark fog was a woeful cloud,
Worse than any fierce god's storm,
And it hung like smoke in the blackening sky,
As to blot out the Sun's blessed form.
And I stumbled to and fro,
Amidst the serpents frightful storm,
Till I saw in the middle of this night-endless plight,
A light as bright as was the dark of the storm.
This light was the light of an oil-burning fire,
Bright and hot and small,
With a glowing stream of a snake-tongue's flame,
And a smoke-plume thin and tall.
Now the source I could not see,
For it was a distance off,
But the flame burned with such great passion,
Of damned human thought,
That I ran, half drunk, through the fear-fog's night,
For that cursed flame I sought.
Of such joy was I, as I chased after the seen,
That the dear, beloved light of false hope,
Danced quickly away, always a step ahead,
From I, a poor soul, lost on that desolate slope.
Well it danced and spun and fluttered away,
To my left, to my right, to behind and in front,
To taunt my vision with such maddening hope,
As the light, in its grandness, could hope.
I galloped like a racehorse around and around,
In the fog fraught of void and terror,
So that my mind was in circles and vexing coils,
Knowing nothing but that sad lighted horror.
I fell to the ground in a gasping moan,
As the fire grew hot and great, and I,
As spectator, could only watch,
As flame kindled flame,
And the serpent-tongues rose high into the sky,
And I cried “Too much, too much!”,
As the furnace burned hot,
And the heavens turned crimson-gold.
And still that wretched fog, as thick as ice-frost's breath,
Fell choking in my throat as the hellfire burned,
And the world was consumed,
By the once small light.
Now as human reason, in the midst of the serpent’s fog,
Burned bright and elusive and taunting in the night,
So shall it burn in terrible fright,
If given a voice in fearfull plight.
Knowledge
This inner desire
To devour the unknown
This addiction that causes
My anxiety to thrive in my veins
This burning anger
This uncanny drive
That questions my creator that
Wishes to slap the chain on my brain
And kill such equisential thoughts
That so often question the logic of the human existence
That attacks the holy scriptures
On such fantastical sermons
That lack no foundation
Based on such mythical rhymes
Causes my brain cage to shake and quake
Spewing venom of hatred from your podium
Mouth wide and gushing with saliva
Slamming down another sermon
In the mouths of fools hunger for the truth
Nails peeling and ripping through the walls of the earth
To find this divine answer that is in the crack of our bones
That thrives on my vengeance of god
Eating pages
Drilling through the creavases of the earth finest sercets
To hold unto to this stability that I crave
My mind is library filled with books caked with dust
And heaving with blood
Bones encased around the binding preventing them to fall into the pit of nothingness
This disastrous course that
We began when we were younger
Deciphering words
And hanging uto human reason
When human reason
Is far from reason
This shivering feeling that is in our hands
That causes our skin to cut and tear
That drops the very liquid that turns red when hit with oxygen
That rusts our brain and causes us to recede our intelligent mind in a bookcase
Because we fear the answer to our questions will never satisfy us
This lust to find
And conquer and devour this unholy world
To make what is crooked
straight
To define the gravity of reality
To alter to perception
In order to gain perception
Peripheral vision slurred
And lead astray fear that are fingers
Will very quake at the answer we hold in the creases of universe
To journey to hell
And back
To conquest
What is left to quest
To break boundaries
And build walls
To tear down the matrix
In order
To reach reality
To latch unto the atmosphere
And not lose ourselves in the hemisphere
Of wandering thoughts
That is knowledge
The never ending cycle
Of tearing the world around us
To tear into the past
Present
Future
To gain an understanding
Of this foundation
We rest are feet and dead bodies
On
To seek the truth
The ugly truth
Knowledge,
It is the culmination of experiences.
Seeds planted while we are infants.
Some nourished and attended.
Carefully irrigated, to take root and grow.
Others doused with gibberish.
A few, parched, shrivelled up, abandoned.
Knowledge,
It is the fruition of ideas,
Sprouting, reaching for the sun,
Some capturing it’s power and energy,
It’s warmth gently offering sustenance.
Others, too shaded, hidden from it’s rays.
A few, burned, scorched, deserted.
Knowledge,
It is an unyielding belief,
Budding, promising it’s glory
Some flourishing, offering it’s nectar
it’s blooms bursting forth with vibrancy
Others, to weak and fragile to emerge.
A few, squashed, fallen, neglected
Knowledge,
It is the final Perception.
Branching out, completing it’s ripening.
Some harvesting, reaping the crops.
Fertilizing the virgin soils.
Others, mere stumps strangled prematurely
A few, broken, fragile, snapped.
Knowledge,
It is a collection of Opinions.
Plotted carefully, devised,
Some thriving in rich bedding,
it’s marrow spreading rapidly.
Others, inhibited with mulch.
A few, weeded, wrenched, discarded.
Knowledge,
It is an accumulation of resources.
Towering majestically, sharing it’s splendour,
Some offering it’s abundances,
it’s thickets twisting a labyrinth.
Others too wild, too dangerous.
A few, chopped, hacked, destructed
Knowledge,
It is an offering, a gift, a luxury.
It is taken, received, a necessity.
It is unique, valuable, rare
It is ordinary, cheap, common
It is endless, expanding, powerful
It is bounded, restricting, weak
Power
Knowledge is a set of beliefs. You know water is wet. You know fire is hot. You may not know those beliefs can be challenged. You may not know you love because you can't help it. You may have to learn stuff like, your car needs gas. The buttons on the machines have changed. Knowledge is like change, ever revealing itself in a personal way. Seek it. Go for knowledge like you do oxygen or wisdom. Choose your knowledge, choose your personal facts. What do you accept as a reality? What is real to you is your knowledge, and that is a good thing, for without knowledge there can be no change!
Some neurologists may suggest knowledge is all you can shove in your brain , but you know what knowledge is! Or is that an oxymoron? You decide. At this point, I'm just filling a word count to the challenge about "what is knowledge?" You know how you feel, you know the color of your eyes.. duh!
Almost done...what is 1+2? frickin 3! OK 25 words left...The sun rises in the east and settles in the west. Says Who?!! Do you know our axis could change? Check that out!

A Cup
I could use so many nouns, verbs, adverbs, and adjectives; all manner of spelled out and printed verbiage, that I may know, to stretch this bit of words into a two hundred count. I assume that many may consider it a bit of cheating on my part, concerning the requirement of this challenge. However, I truly could not pass up a bit of personal philosophy on it.
Knowledge is just a simple cup. It can be held by a pauper or a king. It can be fashioned by any craftsman to hold much or to hold little. It can be roughly painted with no need to disguise its intended use and function or decorated with jewels, precious and semi-precious stones to be appealing, perhaps even deceiving to those who look on it. Still, like a cup, it is meant to be a tool; a most useful tool to be sure. Without such a vessel, would I not 'cup' my hand to scoop up sweet refreshing water to my thirsty mouth?
It's not so much, this "cup" called knowledge as what it holds; wisdom to life, conversely - foolishness to death. So then The few words I first wanted to convey
To quote Albert Einstein,
“Any fool can know. The point is to understand.”
Knowledge: A Weapon of Mass Destruction
"Knowledge is power."
Well, in a way, sure.
But knowledge is so much more than just "power".
Knowledge is chaos.
Time. Space. Light. All things we wish we knew everything on.
Such simple words with impossibly complex explanations.
Generations. Decades. Centuries. All spent trying to figure out the simplest of things.
And for all this time, we still only know the surface amount.
That's knowledge.
It's vast beyond your wildest dreams.
This is why we shouldn't deal with black holes and time travel.
Hitler is dead now. No need to go back and kill him. It only brings eradication and loss.
It only brings fuckery to the very world we live today.
"The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, it is the illusion of knowledge."
But, really, our entire exitance is an illusion of knowledge. Everything we think we know is an illusion of knowledge. Life itself is an illusion of knowledge.
Knowledge is an illusion all of itself.
To seek knowledge is to seek devastation. To seek knowledge is to seek lies. To seek knowledge is to seek horror.
It has been said that you can never be too knowledgeable. But that would be a lie.
"Knowledge is the food of the soul."
If this is true, how have we not all starved?
