Choice
Her winds were a bit chilly and harsh at first but I battled through the force of her emotions not with ease but with care. Every gust I would fall to my knees holding myself trying to warm myself up to keep my body temperature in check. It was almost futile but still I rise. Every grunt, every whimper I still stayed within her cyclone of emotions. She needed to know I would never dismiss her or walk away on my own accord. She needed a soldier to battle her sometimes. She needed a Queen to be diplomatic but kind to handle her imbalance. She needed someone to allow her to be free but still have a hand lightly touching her shoulder like a butterfly kiss to assure her that she isn’t alone in this journey. I was it. I was it by choice not because the universe thrusted us together. Not because I had nothing else better to do. I was here either battling her winds or being protected by her because I choose to be. I will always choose to be by her side.

when?
curled up, longing
the hours draining away
the clock is ticking
he says he'll be home soon
but never is
and i wait, foolishly
by dark
yet the light is returning
and still no sign
wonder in my mind
not the good kind, the childish kind
but suspicious musings
wonder what he's out doing
with who? someone pretty,
someone i don't know about
perhaps he's abandoned me for someone better.
and the door opens,
light flooding into the dark corners
"Honey, I'm home!"
and all reset.
(doubts in the back of my mind.)
Silent Color
Wipe your paintbrush clean
dip it into life
and paint laughter
on your face.
Listen to the silent color
imbue into your soul
voyage through joy
inhale cool spring air
with deep embrace.
Paint your canvas
with new color of life
little bubbles
of ecstacy
warming your spirit.
Let juices of life
run down your chin
in hushed colors.
Midnight
Stars twinkle down on me
Through the spindly branches
Of the reaching trees
That struggle to reach
Toward the midnight painted sky
My light lights up the dark
And I watch as shadows
Dance through the midnight black
They reach for me
And threaten to strangle me
And douse my light
But shadows do not frighten me
Because they are born from the light
Let the midnight paint me a picture
Without the artificial stars
Let me fall asleep with twinkles
Smiling from the midnight sky
L’autre enfant de la famille
My dear Minnie
We were born around..
The same time-
Side by side
Ever since birth..
Very first pet-
You loved your
Fish flavored biscuits..
And some human food-
You always liked to play
Even had a day..
Just for stretching about-
We watched movies
In a blanket snug..
As a bug-
I miss your purrs
& all your meows..
My dear Minnie-
