Who are you? When you look in the mirror, who do you see?

My insecurities

A petite girl

Trying to stand tall

With glasses

Yet she won't look far

And prominent eyes

But she won't open it fully

And a smile

      So bright, they say

To hide the darkness

With hair that flutters

Tied tightly in a ponytail

She looks in the mirror

And critics every feature

'Why can't I be...'

Eventually, she'll learn that she's uniquely perfect

That she can

Eventually, she'll stand proud as a working woman

Loving every part of herself

And say 'I did.'

Challenge
Vacation destination. Write a piece, poem preferred, but anything is fine, about the ideal vacation destination. There are rules. No naming the destination, no use of the following words: paradise, vacation, holiday, sunny, wet, tropical, fun, beach, hot or cold, sun, snow, swim, tan. Get the idea? Try slightly obscure, nothing too obvious. Show me where you want to go and paint me a picture with your words of what you want to do when you get there. I will try one too. Tag me.

Unwind and Relax

Doesn't matter why we go

Doesn't matter how long we're gone

Doesn't matter what we bring

Doesn't matter whether we're ready

I will lie next to you

With my head on your chest

With my eyes lost in yours

With our feet intertwined

We'll cook and talk

Not caring about the time

Like we've got all the time in the world

Like we've finally been set free

Looking at the sky

With the stars shining bright

We'll just admire the beauty

Of what we've been missing all this while

Amidst the Ambivalence

Excited but anxious

Busy yet waiting

Occupied but free

Empty yet filled

With the thought of you

Challenge
Write a poem or short story using only alliterations.

Truth and Dare

Perfect prevarication

Elusively evasive

Grave guilt

Ominously overbearing

Fingers fidget

Toes twitch

Heartbeat hurries

Mouth mumbles

Veracious voice

      vibrate veritably

Subdued, silenced.

Giving Up

Slowly sinking down

reaching hands attempt to save

grasping weights, I drown.

Prose.

 Outpouring of feelings and ideas

 Overwhelm my senses

    Commanding my heart

 To  stop wandering

But enjoy the present read.

Write something about sadness and being misunderstood

Are you sad? They ask

Will you ever be happy? They wonder

Maybe now you finally understand reality

Realize everyone's levels of morality

Maybe now you see how fleeting life is

And how forever is only after death's kiss

Warning Sign

There should be a warning sign above me

'Do Not Enter', if it'll be too much to handle or too easy for you to leave

Telling you to stay on the greener side

For when you come over to my side

It'll be nothing, but hot boiling blue

From all the love and care I would be giving to you.

DAZED

She smiled

I was paralyzed

Spake

Hypnotized

My

Heart

Melted blue

Confused

Like a fool.

Each

Word

Were

So

Radioactive

Exposed

Cancerous

Love

Tissues

Became

Active

Each

Sigh

Shockwaves

With motive

Carried away

Hurricane sandy

My

Blood

Blazed

With fumes

So drunk

Muse

On

The

Loose

There

Is

No

Reason

Why

I

Shouldn't

Explode

Immediately

She hung up

Big Bang

Was

Not close

I

Am

Definitely

Insane

Meth or weed

Frozen brain
