Truth
Truth.
What is that?
Nothing more than
Something you believe is true
Postulate
A thought
A word
A concept
Convince others
Pound it in their brains
Tell them everyday
Leave no room for other faiths
Think hard
Something can be true
It can also be false
It can be both.
Believe what you believe.
Think what you think.
But what you preach
Others might not agree.
TRUTH
Truth is alive
The antithesis of Lie
More than a concept, idea
Or thing
Truth is a Person
Truth can be you
Or anyone else who uses it
It fills the heart of those who hear it,
Truth has a voice
Anyone can hear it;
Babes speak the truth
Out of their mouths.
It sounds like a sweet babbling brook;
A soft song emanating from thin air
Arising from your own soul spirit
When all is quiet
At certain moments maybe alone at night
When peace a companion
Of truth soothes you
Truth is blind
Lady Justice,
Balance in her hand,
Two edged sword in the other
Represents truth
“What is truth,” asked one named Pontius
Pilate did not know as he washed his hands
And Truth remained silent.
He proclaimed to the screaming crowd,
He spoke the truth when he said:
“I find no guilt in this man, . . .”
. . .Truth,
In image of man,
Said: “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.”
Truth is invisible but can be seen
The blind can see it
Those who deny it, cannot, (will not).
A heavy load carried
To them that suppress it
Weightless to those who admit it
Sets free all who welcome it
Truth is eternal, has always lived
Is alive, will never die,
Cannot die.
It is the same yesterday, today and forever.
Truth is light, as death is dark
Truth is power - raises the dead
Cannot be buried or bought
It’s free.
Lies are expensive and can hurt and kill
Truth destroys lies -
Priceless.
Truth cannot be buried or hidden,
Is light, shines in darkness - guides, leads,
Fire and lightening obey Truth
Mysterious to define or describe,
No prison can confine, no force can manipulate
She is beautiful, she can break you out of captivity
Even when fear denies her, or guilt rejects her
She is faithful,
Courage follows her around admiring her.
When death grabs and bullies who mentions her name
She defends valiantly.
Truth spoke long ago,
Still heard today,
“Know the truth and it will set you free.”
Truth.
There are lies in this world, lies that build up on each other, lies that contradict each other until the truth is eventually revealed.
Our lives revolve around truthful lies and false truths.
We were raised to be seekers of the truth, always being true to ourselves and to everyone around us. Lies, they'd tell us, are wrong. Lies are a pathetic attempt to cover up wrongdoings, lies are just a veil over what really happened. A veil over the truth. The truth, they'd tell us, is always right. The truth is a fact. Something that cannot be contradicted, for the truth is what it is: true. While one lie leads to another, eventually bringing us to our own destruction, the truth guides us through our lives, when we face the consequences of our own actions with courage, when we deliver the truth for what it is. The truth, they'd tell us, doesn't make life easy, but it does make life easier. The truth is a weapon against lies, a fear that haunts the dreams of liars.
So why is it, that the truth really, really hurts?
Truth is an instrument, one that we play for our ears and others', one that will bring closure to all our questions. An instrument that, like all others, have to be played at the right time, or not at all. Telling the truth at the wrong time may serve to spark a fire that was better left undisturbed. Sometimes, I'd say, ignorance may indeed be bliss.
We were raised to be seekers of the truth, always being true to ourselves and to everyone around us. Lies, they'd tell us, are wrong, while the truth is always right. But we were not raised to play instruments, and we struggle every day of our lives, trying to play the tune of absolute truth, every slip up leading to a string of false melodies.
We were raised to be seekers of the truth, yet we lack the knowledge to play the instrument. All that's left in the chaos are songs of half-truths and white lies.
Our lives revolve around truthful lies and false truths, but we never stop playing.
Truth is...
... Exactly what you believe it is. You see, we all have our own "truths" that we live by. Some say "God is true, and all men are liars". Others say "God is a lie, man is most honest".
Truth is what you base your life on.
Like your name for example. Is it really your "true" name?
I say, "do good to others and others will do good to you". Some say, "each man for himself, protect yourself." Both statements are true.
Truth is what we want it to be.
Truth is personal.
A truth for me might be a lie for someone else. Someone's lie may be my truth.
S.R. lies when he says that malt beverages are nasty. Ovaltine malt flavored milk is TRULY the best tasting milk on the planet! He says it "truly" isn't.
The question isn't, "what is truth?" The real question should be, "what is YOUR truth?"
