Long Time no See

I've been reviewing reflections. What beauty I once saw darts in and out of my vision. A few words have resurfaced old pains. There had only been scabs, not scars as I had hoped. I don't understand how my focus could have been in such a hope, a hope I idolized, when he was only an illusion. Or rather, a facade, hiding away more manipulation. Once the sun comes out again, I will continue my growth. But now even the rising sun does not seem certain.

Challenge
What is one fictional character's death that you will never get over?
These fictional characters can range from movies, books, video games, etc.

Rudy Steiner from Mark Zusak’s The Book Theif

I loved that boy. Had he been real, had I known him, we'd have never gotten along. He was childish. He stole and cursed. He seemed as arrogant as most young boys. He was everything that drived me crazy, but I loved him. Because he was a giver too.

Challenge
Write a short love poem. The catch is that the first sentence must have seven words, and the following sentences should countdown until you have only one word for the last sentence. Basically 7 words, then 6, then 5, etc.
Love comes in numbers.

Falling

We have known each other for years,

but now I don't know you.

I let myself keep falling.

I let you fall.

Please come back.

I'm begging.

Falling.

A Long Night

Flight in night?

It's been long,

Alongside the dove,

Bits of song,

We cried

Bright daylight.

Child

The child lies behind the mask

holding onto a silver flask,

She fears revealing light

as she hides in the warm night,

The stars cry golden tears

they want to take her from her fears,

Midnight approaches quick

the mask shatters on the brick,

Fractured glass glides

nowhere for the child to hide,

Her problems on display for all

she had no place in this ball.

Challenge

Blame

You may have been given a small window of time,

Perhaps the blame is not yours,

But why did you hold back,

You may not have know how you felt,

Perhaps the blame is time,

Still

Why did you hold back,

You may have felt odd about what he said,

Perhaps the blame is his,

But

You held back,

You

could have let go of fear,

You

could have opened your mouth,

He

inspired you to be brave,

You

held back,

Perhaps the blame is yours

and you carry the guilt.

Challenge
You are given a blank canvas and are told to paint something that represents the "love of your life." What do you paint? And what are the accented colors?

Love in Hope

A beautiful Home of isolation for us. Without our demons that haunt us in our hosues, no longer plagued by the tortures of this town. Vibrant red fruits hang from delicate branches. Their simple beautiful color differs from the blood of our pasts. A hill of soft grass, adorned with pebbles of happy memories together. A dark night decorated with golden stars that worn off fear. With a simple creek gliding like glass. The canvas would depict a Home of hope for the love of my life.

Challenge
Falling in love or falling apart?
You don't have to use these exact words, just write a poem inspired by this line

Ropes and Nets

Embraced by saftey

I lay in warmth and security,

Crickets tickle my ears,

and I giggle with joy,

and I am finally a child,

The days of adventure

once stolen from me

are mine for the taking,

A peacefull night

wraps around me,

A delicate woven blanket

of stars and dust,

I take my first steps

onto cool earth and stone,

I hold tight onto memories

trapped in pebbles,

The soil rots

crumbles,

It slides,

I slip,

I stare back,

Grasping for the net,

But he has drifted to sea

leaving me with a rope,

Bittersweet tears falling

under the stars.

Perhaps.

They. A word pouring with disgust. They put us down here in the mines. But I would never do anything. I do my work as I do everyday. Suddenly there is a rip in the universe itself. I peer in. It is a nice world. Perhaps I would enjoy it.

Challenge
You're a Pompeiian poet. Volcanic ash is raining down. You write one last poem. What is it?

Falling Seconds

The Lady of Consequence

has gone,

leaving the array of ores

suspended in air,

Grains of earth,

Falling seconds,

Their weight melts

into the chaos,

Leaving only their spirits

to dance on mortality,

Dust on the olive branches,

Falling seconds,

A wall of embers between us,

The almighty watching us,

Above us,

No longer with us,

Leaving us

to walk along the flames of sins,

Ashes reflect in our eyes

harmonizing with our horror,

Drifting down

to the bones,

Layers of grey,

Fallen seconds.
