How Important is Soccer?
Bill Shankly, manager of Liverpool Football Club once famously said, "Football's not a matter of life and death, it's more important than that." Can that true and what does it even mean?

Personal vs Collective responsibility
Recent research continues to uncover the importance of the gut biome to healthy living. It has also shown the biome's condition can be easily monitored using only a few markers, and these are readily detected by small electronic implants. So far, these implants have been used only in research, but the technology exists to monitor healthy eating down to the individual level.
However, since eating preferences also affect agricultural practices and with that, the environment. and since they impact health and with that, the health care system, what the person eats can harm the group. So where are the boundaries here and what legal action might follow? We would be impacting personal choice (at own cost) of totally legal food (like beef) and invading the body (implants). Would this ever be justified? Please give me your thoughts.

Philosophy on Morality
If morality wasn't an established conduct, what could have been the boundary of good and evil, right and wrong, if every reason is justifiable?

christmas spirit: capitalist brainwashing or a memento of ancient times?
to me, christmas - and the act of gift giving, wrapping, and placing a child's behavior into the hands of a mysterious, far off man who watches them 24/7 to determine whether this behavior deserves a good or bad reward - is rather deceptive and not all true to the 'spirit of christmas'.
it actually has me rather concerned that we have normalized being monitored constantly, and that we overlook the egregious human rights abuses of major corporations in the 'spirit of christmas'.
please, write to me what the spirit of christmas is to you. this can be an essay, a poem, a joke, a memoir - any input will be a well-received gift :D

Assume there is no God.
Why human convinced himself that there is heaven and hell if we do good we will get heaven and if we did something evil or bad we will go to hell?

This post is so girl
Prosers! I have been doing some self reflection lately in quarantine and I would like to suggest what is (hopefully) a fun Challenge.
I would like each of us to choose at least two posts from our favorite Prosers - one post which we will label "girl" and the other which we will label "boy"
*Yes, I am aware gender as a binary concept has flaws - bear with me, folks
Then I would like a description of why we think the author sounds more like a "boy" with one post and more like a "girl" with the other post - even if the author's gender is known. You must choose two posts for each author and assign them no matter what!

Does Objective Morality Exist?...
Friedrich Nietzsche called them humanity’s “herd instinct.” John Stuart Mill stated that they are the proportion to which an action leads to human happiness. Socrates believed that a “moral” individual would not harm an “immoral” individual. Philosophers (and scientists) have long debated the essence of morality, and different cultures have all at various times and even today possess differing ideas of what is morally acceptable. But one question above all else rings clear: do morals actually exist apart from our subjective human world, in the objective realm? To be clear, morals and ethics are something urgently required by society to function properly and to ensure human happiness and trust. For truly, a wold without morals would be a world of chaos and misfortune, presumably. With that established, however, do morals actually exist objectively? If so, who or what sets the rules and what are they? If not, why not? I invite the artists and philosophers of Prose. to take up the challenge, and am eager to read your takes on this. All philosophical and religious views are welcome.

Explore a revelation of the soul. Talk about and event that altered not just your life but your character and perspective as well.
Think freely into the realm of dark truths. Positive epiphanies are easy to discuss. The ones that change you in more complex ways are intriguing as well. Maybe there is a complex variety of repercussions. Try approach this from a unique angle or multiple angles.
